Trees - The Garden of Jane Delawney (1970)
1. Nothing Special 0:002. The Great Silkie 4:293. The Garden of Jane Delawney 9:404. Lady Margaret 13:465. Glasgerion 20:556. She Moved Thro' the Fair 26:107. Road 34:148. Epitaph 38:489. Snail's Lament 42:11
I feel like listening to acid folk today, so I picked up this album. Trees are English acid folk band that existed in the early 70's. I've found them in a disc guide book of acid folk and since I started listening to their albums, I'm soon hooked on their music. If you listen to this, you can see their music is heavily influenced by Fairport Convention and trad folk (some songs are originally traditional ballads), but it is more like psychedelic rock, which is the reason why I admire them so. I guess Fairport Convention's fans & trad folk lovers will love this! My fav songs are The Great Silkie and She Moved Thro' the Fair

Comus - First Utterance (1971) [SIDE 1] 0:00 Diana (4:36)
4:37 The Herald (12:11)
16:47 Drip Drip (10:52)
[SIDE 2]
27:40 Song to Comus (7:30)
35:10 The Bite (5:29)
40:39 Bitten (2:19)
42:57 The Prisoner (6:18)
49:15 All The Color of Darkness (7:23)
When I first listened to that, I thought "What the fuck is this?" The first song is chaotic, spooky and very weird. Diana got instantly stuck in my head and I can't get rid of that anymore. Now I'm hooked
Comus are British Acid Folk / Prog rock bands in the late 60's & early 70's. Most of them are from art school, and became the support act of David Bowie, who liked them a lot. But they couldn't make a big success on charts.
I think this is one of the most impressive (perhaps the best) albums I've ever heard. I love its eerie atmosphere and Roger Wootton's high-pitched voice I think it's best for halloween

"Spooky and Weird Shit" - no argument I think Ted Kaczymiski loved Comus and played them over and over as a student at Berkley (The Unabomber) The first party I went to in Berkley (University of California) --- between beads for doors, candles for light and Comus for music' I thought "what the fuck is this shit ?"
