First song of the album is okay but hoping for more strings and variety on the rest of the album. It's really a Jeff Lynne solo album in all honesty. Shame Bev Bevan and Richard TANDY aren't involved anymore

I didn't mind the title track either, though it barely sounds like an ELO song to me. Sounds a little.. constrained? But I'll wait for the album to drop.

It does sound as though he's holding back for some reason? Like you say hoping the album is better overall.

Maybe it is due to the lack of strings, as you pointed out earlier.
