Since no one creates a new thread in the 50's music yet, I decided to make new one. I got his album, Link Wray in April, which was released in the 70's and was awesome, and it led me to this song! This was banned from radio because it was said to promote gang violence, which seems so ridiculous now

I expect many people remember this song because it was featured in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994).
The power chords were quite innovative for their day.

I think it was banned because the word rumble could be used to refer to a gang fight, lol. I think Bob Dylan once called it "the best instrumental ever." In 1958 it would've been very influential.

I didn't know it was featured in Pulp Fiction! Sadly, I haven't watched this so I should check it out I think it was banned because the word rumble could be used to refer to a gang fight, lol. I think Bob Dylan once called it "the best instrumental ever." In 1958 it would've been very influential. Oh, so the word "rumble" used to mean gang fight lol! I should keep that in mind, haha I didn't know Bobbie said so either lol. It is indeed "the best instrumental ever"!

I didn't know it was featured in Pulp Fiction! Sadly, I haven't watched this so I should check it out Yeah, I recognized the song immediately. Though it is featured in the movie, the song wasn't part of the movie's original soundtrack album, but was included in special 2-disc Collector's Edition released in 2002.
