Also known as Earth Mother and the Final Solution, this controversially named band was formed in San Francisco in 1965, with members Ernie Fosselius on lead guitar, Bob Knickerbocker on bass, John Yager handling lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and John Chance on drums. You may recognize Fosselius as the man who created the Star Wars parody short Hardware Wars.
The group's sound was very similar to that of the Great Society - psychedelic raga rock and Eastern styled guitar riffs, but with more melancholy lyrics and the addition of a harmonica. Interestingly, the Great Society's Jerry Slick - Grace Slick's soon-to-be former husband - joined the Final Solution after the dissolution of his former group after Grace left in October 1966 to join the Jefferson Airplane.
The following is a promo film for the band from 1966, where they are compared to the Great Society by virtue of their names (Society's name mocked LBJ's social policy, Solution's name compared the draft to Hitler's genocide).
These songs are all from a 1966 performance at the Matrix in San Francisco.
Note: Bo Diddley Meets Sandy Nelson sounds to me like a curious blend of the Great Society with John Kay's Sparrow.
If you search up "the final solution 1966" on YouTube you will find most of their material.
